I am Jesuit Father Robert McTeigue, host and producer of The Catholic Current. This week marks a special milestone, as we celebrate the first anniversary of the program! We have been blessed to come together daily, over this past year, for real, hard-hitting, helpful conversation, helping to bring Christ to the world and the world to Christ. We’ve been joined by prelates like Cardinal Raymond Burke, Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone, and Bishop Michael Olson. Many priests like Fr. Joseph Fessio, S.J., Fr. Robert Spitzer, S.J., Fr. Tadeusz Pacholczyk, Fr. Philip Bochanski, and Fr. Donald Kloster have offered us their expertise. So many lay people including Dr. Peter Kreeft, Dr. Joseph Shaw, Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse, Elizabeth Yore, Abby Johnson, George Neumayr, Joseph Pearce and Michael Hichborn have been gracious guests as well.
We’re starting strong our second year of The Catholic Current, as we share news, strategies, and helpful information, all aimed at getting to Heaven, together. On Monday, we welcome senior fellow Cathy Ruse of the Family Research Council to talk to us about “Countering the radical transgender ideology targeting children,” and Catholic writer Nayeli Riano to share with us “The Crisis in Poland.” On Tuesday, I’ll be joined by the show’s co-producer Brendan Young as we look at “Bringing Christ to the World, and the World to Christ: The First Anniversary of The Catholic Current.” On Wednesday, Catholic doula, speaker and client manager Laura Ricketts comes on to talk about her organization and its mission “And Then There Were None: The Decay of Planned Parenthood.” On Thursday, we’ll welcome Sr. Mary Eucharista, a founding member of the Sisters of Mary, Mother of the Church, and speak about the “Queen of All Hearts: Marian Consecration and St. Louis de Montfort.” On Friday, we’ll end the week with renowned architect and professor Duncan Stroik to examine: “Church Architecture—for the Glory of God.”
Let’s join together to give thanks to Almighty God for this first anniversary of The Catholic Current, just after celebrating the twentieth anniversary of The Station of the Cross. Let’s pray in thanksgiving for all that we’ve gained over this past year, and humbly ask Our Lord to bless all who have been involved in making the show a means of bringing Christ to the world, and the world to Christ. I’m looking forward to the next year of the show, and to experiencing it together. God bless!
