Radio Reflections: Our 2016 Fall Appeal in Honor of St. Teresa of Calcutta

By Gina Weiss

“Spread love everywhere you go. Let no one ever come to you without leaving happier.” – St. Teresa of Calcutta

Just last month we celebrated the life and legacy of St. Teresa of Calcutta through her canonization by Pope Francis in Rome. And in continual remembrance and honor of our new saint, here at the Station of the Cross we’ve themed our 2016 Fall Appeal, “St. Teresa of Calcutta: Ambassador of All Lives.”

St. Teresa incorporated Christ’s love into every aspect of human life – from her defense of life in the womb to caring for the dying in the streets of India. For her work against poverty, she was even awarded the 1979 Nobel Peace Prize.

Like our newly canonized saint, Catholic radio reaches people in all walks of life, regardless of their situation or hardship. We speak out in defense of the sanctity of human life from natural conception to natural death.

During our 2016 Fall On-Air Appeal, we’ll be hearing from our bishops as they voice their support of Catholic radio and share how it touches the lives of those within their dioceses.

Many of the gifts we’re offering celebrate St. Teresa of Calcutta. In particular, we have rosaries that were blessed by Pope Francis at her canonization. Their red beads will help you remember the mercy of God as you pray. And the colored centerpiece of St. Teresa will remind you of her witness and how we all must strive to love and serve God the best we can each day.

We greatly appreciate any prayers and financial support you can give during this appeal to help us honor St. Teresa’s memory and to continue this great work of serving God’s People.

“I have found the paradox that if you love until it hurts, there can be no more hurt, only more love.” – St. Teresa of Calcutta
