“Advent is here. What a marvelous time in which to renew your desire, your nostalgia, your real longing for Christ to come – for Him to come every day to your soul in the Eucharist. The Church encourages us: Ecce veniet! – He is about to arrive!” – Saint Josemaria Escriva
Life can get so busy, and we can get so distracted with the cooking, cleaning and gift-wrapping of the season. In conjunction with EWTN, the Station of the Cross is blessed to bring you many great Advent and Christmas programs to help you find the Peace of Christ this time of year.
Each week of Advent you’ll hear a different part of the series Church and the Poor – Advent with the Missionaries of the Poor and Christ Comes in History, Mystery and Majesty: Reflections on Advent with His Eminence, Timothy Cardinal Dolan. In Weeks 3 and 4 we’ll also be bringing you EWTN Radio Christmas Card, which features music of the season.
From all of us at the Station of the Cross, may you and your family have a very blessed, holy and peace-filled Advent and Christmas.
“The liturgy of Advent…helps us to understand fully the value and meaning of the mystery of Christmas. It is not just about commemorating the historical event, which occurred some 2,000 years ago in a little village of Judea. Instead, it is necessary to understand that the whole of our life must be an ‘advent,’ a vigilant awaiting of the final coming of Christ.” – Saint John Paul II
