  • Finding Great Books (Dr. Kent Lasnoski)

    Dr. Kent Lasnoski grew up in Wisconsin, before attending  Marquette University where he studied the theology of marriage and sexual ethics, especially in the thought of Augustine, Aquinas, Alphonsus Liguori, John Paul II, and Catholic social teaching. After earning his doctorate in 2011, Dr. Lasnoski taught moral theology as Assistant Professor at Quincy University until his move to Wyoming Catholic College in 2015, where he teaches theology and philosophy, and a practicum on marriage and consecrated life. Dr. Lasnoski is a founding board member and Associate Editor of the Catholic literary and arts journal Dappled Things, serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Moral Theology and is the Editor of the Proceedings of the Catholic Theological Society of America. He has published a monograph on marriage and consecrated life (Vocation to Virtue: Christian Marriage as a Consecrated Life), and together with his wife designs and participates in diocesan programs of marriage preparation and formation. If he is not in the classroom, you might find him playing soccer or ultimate frisbee with the students or hiking and biking with his wife and children.

  • Reclaiming Our Freedom to Worship (Archbishop Cordileone/Matt Archbold)

    Archbishop Salvatore J. Cordileone received an undergraduate degree in Sacred Theology in 1981 from the Pontifical Gregorian University and the following year returned to San Diego to be ordained and begin his first pastoral assignment. In 1985 he was again sent to Rome, this time to study the new Code of Canon Law. He spent the next four years again at the Gregorian University completing his doctoral degree. In 1995 he was called to Rome and for the next seven years served as an assistant at the Supreme Tribunal of the Apostolic Signatura, the Church’s highest canonical court. In 2002, Pope John Paul II appointed then-Monsignor Cordileone as Auxiliary Bishop of the Diocese of San Diego. In 2009, Pope Benedict XVI appointed Bishop Cordileone as the fourth Bishop of Oakland. Three years later he was appointed the Archbishop of San Francisco. As the new Metropolitan Archbishop of the Province of San Francisco, Archbishop Cordileone received the pallium from Pope Francis in Rome on June 29, 2013.  Archbishop Cordileone serves as Chairman of the USCCB Committee on Laity, Marriage, Family Life and Youth and is also a member of the Administrative Committee of the USCCB and a member of the Committee for Canonical Affairs and Church Governance.   Archbishop Cordileone’s avocations include jazz music, swimming, hiking, badminton, and spectator sports, especially baseball and football.

    Matt Archbold is a father of five children, an author, and a columnist for several prominent Catholic publications. Matt’s book “Faith Under Fire –Dramatic Stories of Christian Courage” has received wide acclaim for its portrayals of Christians facing intolerance.

    Bethany Meola has a master of theological studies degree from the Pontifical John Paul II Institute for Studies on Marriage and Family in Washington, D.C. She and her husband, Dan met there and married in 2011. Bethany served the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops for seven years in the Secretariat of Laity, Marriage, Family Life and Youth. Among other tasks, she managed the website For Your Marriage, and researched and wrote on various topics related to marriage and family. In 2017, Dan and Bethany welcomed their daughter Zelie-Louise through the gift of adoption, and Bethany became a stay-at-home mom. In 2019, Grace joined their family, also through adoption. Bethany is co-founder of Life-Giving Wounds.

    Carrie Severino is the President of the Judicial Crisis Network. and co-author with Mollie Hemingway of the bestselling book Justice on Trial: The Kavanaugh Confirmation and the Future of the Court. Severino writes and speaks on a wide range of judicial issues, including the constitutional limits on government, the federal nomination process, and state judicial selection. She has testified before Congress on constitutional questions and briefed Senators on judicial nominations, and regularly files briefs in high-profile Supreme Court cases. She was a law clerk to Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas and to Judge David B. Sentelle of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit.
    Sue Ellen Browder trained at the University of Missouri School of Journalism and ended up working for Cosmopolitan magazine where she wrote propaganda articles used to sell the lies of the sexual revolution to young, single women. In her book Subverted: How I Helped the Sexual Revolution Hijack the Women’s Movement, Sue Ellen documents many vital facts about the purposeful campaign of misinformation that led to legalized abortion in America. She tells her own personal story as well, which includes her own experience of the heartbreak of abortion, and then her subsequent conversion to Jesus and His Catholic Church. Her latest book is entitled, Sex and the Catholic Feminist.
