    Father George Rutler

    Father Rutler was an Episcopal priest for nine years, and the youngest Episcopal rector in the country. He was received into the Catholic Church in 1979 and was sent to the North American College in Rome for seminary studies. Father Rutler graduated from Dartmouth, where he was a Rufus Choate Scholar, and took advanced degrees at the Johns Hopkins University and the General Theological Seminary. He holds several degrees from the Gregorian and Angelicum Universities in Rome, including the Pontifical Doctorate in Sacred Theology, and studied at the Institut Catholique in Paris. In England, in 1988, the University of Oxford awarded him the degree Master of Studies. For his help at the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001 he was honored by the City Council of New York and was made an honorary firefighter by the City of Dallas. Father Rutler has made documentary films in the United States and England, contributes to numerous scholarly and popular journals and has published books on theology, history, cultural issues, and the lives of the saints, and also one book on sports, as a member of the U.S. Squash Racquets Association.

    Professor Stephen C. Córdova has had a life-long interest in Ancient and Mediaeval history and a passion for words and language. He began his university studies at UC Santa Cruz and completed his BA at St. Mary’s College of California. He graduated summa cum laude from St. Mary’s with a BA in English and was accepted to graduate studies at the Centre and Institute in Toronto. He completed course work for the licentiate in Mediaeval Studies from the Institute and for the Ph.D. from the Centre. Stephen Córdova has taught Latin, Great Books, philosophy, history, and literature at colleges and universities in the San Francisco Bay Area, beginning in 1997. He began teaching Latin in the summers at the International Institute for Culture in Philadelphia in 2011. Since October 2017, Stephen has resided full time in Philadelphia, where he continues to teach Latin and Dante.
