The St. John Paul II Schola Cantorum presents “Advent Reflections: A Musical Journey Through the Story of Salvation” on Sunday, December 15, 2019 at 6:00 pm at St. Michael’s Church at 651 Washington Street in downtown Buffalo. The Schola Cantorum will perform selections including Gregorian Chant and sacred polyphony from the Renaissance to the 21st century that chronicle the story of man’s salvation – from Adam’s fall in the Garden of Eden to the glorious birth of the Savior Jesus Christ. Works by Elgar, Byrd, Palestrina, Bach, Victoria, Gallus, LeJeune and others will be performed.

The concert will be presented after the 5:00 pm Sunday mass and prior to the 7:00 pm mass. The event is free and open to the public.

The St. John Paul II Schola Cantorum is an independent a cappella choir dedicated to performing, promoting and preserving the great treasury of sacred choral music as decreed by the Catholic Church. Repertoire ranges from Gregorian Chant to sacred polyphony from the Middle Ages to modern times.
