St. Alban’s Catholic Church, a Rochester parish in the Ordinariate of the Chair of St. Peter, is celebrating its patron saint, St. Alban the First Martyr of England, on Thursday, June 20th at 7 PM with a beautiful Solemn Mass. Catholics will experience the beauty of Solemn Mass in Prayer Book English, which is offered according to Divine Worship: the Missal, the Ordinariate form of the Roman Rite authorized by the Vatican in 2015. The Ordinariate is the diocesan home of the English Christian patrimony in the Catholic Church that was established under Benedict XVI and tasked by Pope Francis to evangelize with “the beauty of holiness.”

St. Alban’s parish is also marking its official name change by the Ordinariate’s Bishop Steven Lopes from the Fellowship of St. Alban to St. Alban’s Catholic Church, a major milestone in the parish’s history since its start in 2012. All are invited to celebrate this important feast, and to partake of a light reception afterward.
